How do I stop myself from getting overwhelmed?

Dear Dr. Alman,

I need help.  Do you have a technique that will help me stop getting so overwhelmed?  It’s work, people, drama, problems, worries, trying to help and not feeling like I’m doing enough.  I’m doing my best but the problems are never-ending and it’s starting to really get to me on a daily basis.  I’m tired, stressed, irritable, not sleeping that great, and I can feel my health worsening because I do not know how to stop myself from getting overwhelmed.

Nancy

Dear Nancy,

THANK YOU for writing this today.  Most people have been postponing getting this resolved even though they’ve been feeling overwhelmed for years.  So, you are way ahead of the game by responding to your own, true personal needs NOW!

I’m going to share a very simple 2 step process that will take you less time and energy, (by far), than you are spending being overwhelmed and trying NOT to feel overwhelmed.  That can be overwhelming all by itself!

Please allow yourself to give yourself this gift (new approach) for one week; first thing in the morning and before you start your day.

Then, please do this for yourself on an as-needed basis for a few moments during the day and evenings — just for 1 week and watch what a big difference this makes.

When it comes to tapping into your own inner true sage, the rewards come back a hundred times compared to the little bit of effort that is required.  It’s like putting a dollar in the bank and getting a hundred dollars back.  In this case, your mind and body are the bank and the rewards are no longer feeling overwhelmed for more than a few moments (as a signal) and you will immediately start feeling much lighter, healthier and happier; inside and out!

Your inner true sage has all the best answers FOR YOU!

Your inner true sage is simple to tap into with the techniques available to you at www.TruSage.com and they are VERY POWERFUL because YOU ARE VERY POWERFUL!  TruSage just gets to share the HOW-TO’S WITH YOU!

#1  FOCUS on your breathing and accept your breathing as it is.  This is like accepting the stars in the sky, the waves at the beach and the wind in the trees.  THE VALUE TO YOU; you experience inside, as you ACCEPT your breathing as it is, what it feels like to accept yourself as you are!

Acceptance, exactly like this with your breathing and this exact method, even for just 5-10 breaths now and anytime….is is a DOOR-OPENER to your inner true sage.

Do this now….take 5-10 breaths and accept your breathing as it is.

If you want to add more power; inhale and say to yourself, “I accept” and on the exhales say your first and last name to yourself.  5-10 more breaths like this can make it even simpler to get to your own inner true sage.

* THIS IS Guaranteed to help

* THIS WILL get easier and more powerful

* THIS WILL become automatic & 2nd nature

#2 EXPRESS all of your feelings of overwhelm.  That’s right.  No more repressing because your body is the receptacle for all of your repressed feelings…and that’s not fair!  Your body didn’t do anything to deserve this.

You are learning HOW TO BE FRIENDLY to your body, your feelings and even your overwhelm.

This is counter-intuitive, I know.

If you are like 90% of people, you may think and continually believe that it’s better to just ignore the feelings, try to get rid of them, not have them, fix them or repress them.

Nope!  Proven not to work….so, why do people do this for decades and usually for their whole lives….because they DO NOT KNOW HOW-TO do this better!  As you’ve heard, and probably said, you can’t know what you don’t know.

YES!  You are learning HOW TO deal with overwhelm right now!

The expressing is TO YOURSELF…  Talk out loud.  Doodle with your eyes closed and scribble with your non-dominant hand.

Note: You do this to LET GO…no analyzing….no fixing…no trying to change…no solving…no repressing…just EXPRESSING and this can be enhanced by you also singing, dancing, laughing, crying, writing with your non-dominant hand and your eyes closed, talking to yourself out loud, or talking in your own head.

The big reason you don’t want to share / express this to others: It’s not because you don’t want to burden them….IT’S BECAUSE YOU ARE ABOUT TO RESOLVE THINGS IN MINUTES and why have the other person upset or bringing it up again in hours, days, months, years or decades from now?  You’ll be over it and who needs to keep bringing it up?  Not you!

Every morning (becuase the way things start – including your day – is how things usually go), spend 5 minutes or less — ACCEPTING AND EXPRESSING.

This will guide you through your day to keep doing this.

Remember, you are not trying to fix or solve things.  You are simply accepting and expressing.  You are accepting your breathing as it is and this is a short-cut for accepting yourself…overwhelm…abilities…resources and much, much more!  Just watch!

Your best answers on how to deal with overwhelm will simply arrive spontaneously, naturally, comfortably and reliably from your own inner true sage…as a result of being more pro-active with your accepting and expressing.

Your inner true sage will help you more everyday because you are accepting and expressing your whole self.

By the way, the opposite is true, too.  If you continue rejecting and repressing your feelings of overwhelm, this can become a way of life!  Oh no….totally unneccessary….even ask your own inner true sage.

Note: the hundreds of techniques to help you tap into your own inner true sage are in the programs at www.TruSage.com.

Please write me back in a week.  You will definitely be celebrating how much FRIENDLIER you feel towards yourself, your emotions, your body, your thoughts, your breathing, your attitude and your results!

You can expect A+ results from yourself.

Please feel free to write back anytime with questions and to share your successes, too.

I’ll look forward to hearing from you in a week, so you can share that overwhelm evolved into relaxation and confidence…and please remember that overwhelm was the bridge…the door…the opportunity!

Best wishes (everyday),

Dr. Brian Alman
