Why can’t you make yourself do what you know you should do?

What is the point of New Year’s Resolutions if you are not going to keep them?

Maybe you don’t even bother…or ?

If you want 2010 to be the year you succeed with your New Year’s Resolution(s), then keep a close eye on this blog because I’ll be sharing the how-to’s.

After 32 years of helping people keep their New Year’s Resolutions, I’m ready to share some of the secrets with you.

Here’s a hint:
Well, to succeed with New Year’s Resolution, you have to know how to listen to your intuition? And there’s a very specific formula that I learned from a woman who is a wonderful teacher, has been teaching in the field of psychology, philosophy and medicine for over 50 years.

She said this to me; “It’s easy.”

Just teach people how to do these four things.

So here’s what I want you to do. I want you to do this with me as we get closer to 1/1/2010. I want you to be thinking about a New Year’s Resolution so that you can learn how to integrate your intuition to guarantee your success.

Okay, so what is the issue? Is it work? Is it a relationship? Is it about money? Is it about family? Is it about something that is just important to you right now, today? 2010?

You will soon know the way you will do it.

It’s not even December yet. Please procrastinate as much as possible, if you choose, for December 2009.

When it’s almost 2010, you will learn this wonderful how-to from the great woman described above and much more!

Happy Holidays!

Dr. Brian Alman

This all started in 1975 when I met Milton Erickson, MD. I was amazed at the states that he could help people get into; mindbody healing, deep relaxation, inner peace, freedom from pain (emotional and physical), self-confidence, and so much more. Plus, it was all documented in medical journals. To be able to observe him working with others was simply fascinating. To be the patient was phenomenal. I got to experience freedom from pain (my #1 goal at the time because of chronic back pain), the deepest relaxation I have ever experienced, resolution of emotional problems that were buried deep inside of me, and self-confidence that I had never experienced before. In fact, Dr. Erickson was an active reader of my Ph.D. thesis, helped me write my 1st medical journal article, guided me while I was writing my 1st book and facilitated my 1st time teaching in a university.

The burning question that I came out of that training with, after resolving a ton of issues; if a person can relax that deeply and feel that good, naturally, could someone be there all the time.

They call that enlightened.

It’s fully present, aware, accepting, releasing, free, spiritual and happy.

So, I travelled to India, two times. Big trips. I went because I wanted to find out for myself if anyone is really enlightened…all the time. I wanted to meet gurus and be with them, energetically, verbally, non-verbally and so on.

I asked them 2 questions; what’s the most important thing in life and what’s your favorite technique? I love techniques, how-to’s, short-cuts that really work. Of course, the most important life question is a natural when with a guru.

The most amazing guru told me the most important thing in life is patience.

The best technique I learned is my #1 breathwork approach. I’ll share this with you at www.TruSage.com.

What I found out is that nobody is enlightened all the time. I met people who were 99% of the time. When human, (emotional and over-thinking), they could quickly get back to fully present, aware, accepting, releasing, free, spiritual and happy.

My new book, The Voice, will be in Barnes & Noble in April. There is a story in there called “The Guru with a Toothache” and you will laugh because it’s the moment I saw the 99% and up until that moment, I was seeing 100%.

You will love to know that nobody is perfect and most people are perfectly okay. Your enlightenment is defined by how many moments a day (86,400) you enjoy being fully present, aware, accepting, releasing, free, spiritual and happy.

It’s my honor and pleasure to share with you some of the best of the best stories from India and elsewhere in the world, including San Diego, that my learning and teaching has taken me.

Thank you for your openness,

“Sleep may be the cheapest and easiest obesity treatment there is.” Past President of the Obesity Society and Author, Louis Aronne, MD

Patients are likely to have their sleep assessed and their eating habits.

If patients gets less than seven to eight hours, MD’s may prescribe more shut eye than the latest diet or drug.

With more sleep, they have a greater sense of fullness, and they’ll spontaneously lose weight.

Note: A good bridge from www.beautysleeptonight.com to www.keepitoffforlife.com is all yours at www.TruSage.com!

University of Chicago researchers reported — in case you are asking “WHY?” — that sleep deprivation upsets our hormonal balance, in triggering both a decrease in leptin (which helps you feel full) and increase in ghrelin (which triggers hunger). As a result we think we’re hungry even though we aren’t — and so we eat and over-eat. Indeed, sleep may be the cheapest and easiest obesity treatment there is.

Please also note that 1st things happen on the inside and then they happen on the outside.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brian Alman

Along with 36 other Dads, I wrote a chapter and I share a lot of my secrets — 6 kids later — 3 generations of kids — and thousands of other people’s kids.

Jack Canfield is in the book. Julia found devoted Dads and I hope the writings are useful for generations.

I promise you will feel good and learn at the same time.

Here’s a question that came out of my meeting 2 weeks ago with Julia and her 2 partners, Kimberly and Diane: “Write a book for men about their relationships with women.”

* Because I have 5 girls?
* Because I was raised by a mother who was unconditionally loving?
* Because I was raised to be the kind of man that women can trust?
* Because I had 2 sisters and my mother had 4 sisters?

Well, it’s on the drawing board.

My newest book, THE VOICE, will be out this Spring 2010 with Barnes & Noble.

www.beautysleeptonight.com is being launched this week.

THE EVENT — RELATIONSHIPS Are The Most Important Thing — is going to start as an internet viewing of 20 minutes with the ALL-STARS in this field. THE EVENT will be very limited in size and will be at La Costa where I had the CHANGE YOUR MIND & CHANGER YOUR LIFE EVENT last Spring.

The next book will be on relationships — and do you like the idea of helping men, helping yourself, or helping your man, or your son? To be more effective with women — and themselves?

Let’s share our feelings, thoughts and intuitions!

The Newest Division of TruSage is SPORTS!

Teaching athletes how-to win with confidence, inner strength and power.

Kickers are getting A+ opportunities together with TruSage and Michael Husted, former NFL kicker and is now totally devoted to bringing out the best in athletes; inside and out.

We have known each other and worked with each other for over 10 years.

Here’s Michael — and then THE TIP!

National Combine Series
www.combineseries.com
888.702.0682

Power of Success

Kicking Requires 100% Focus

Tip #1 (below)

#1 Question:
How do you kick under pressure?

Learn about Stress Reduction and How to breathe your way through anything, in a minute but not yet.

Dr. Alman has taught this to many kickers, (including NFL players), and athletes from almost every sport and all around the world. That includes Olympic athletes, individual competitors and entire teams.

You will be learning a variety of new tips for kicking under pressure and you will easily learn how to integrate them all right into your breathing. They actually become almost effortless and automatic.
This will definitely develop your relaxation and confidence abilities in pressure situations.

Here is an exact method that you will see immediate and long-term results from…

It’s called, Observe and Listen —

To Your Turning Points.

This is a simple breath awareness exercise. This is one of Michael Husted’s favorites and most successful from his NFL days.

STEP ONE:
Focus on your breathing. Feel the rise and fall of each breath. Don’t try to relax or do anything special. Simply accept your breathing however it is; fast or slow, nose or mouth, deep or shallow – it really doesn’t matter.

The key is acceptance.

Just as you do the stars in the sky at night. Or the waves at the beach. Or the wind blowing through the branches of the trees.

You’re not trying to change anything. No need to fix, solve or improve; simply accepting your breathing however it is.

This is vitally important because as you are now accepting your breathing as it is, you are getting a glimpse of what it feels like to accept yourself as you are.

This is bridge to accepting yourself as the kicker that you are.

Amazingly enough, acceptance is relaxation and when you mix this with your intensity, practice, desire, motivation and even frustration….

….you are learning how to be 100% and when you are 100%, you will kick at 100%!

That’s winning games!

It all starts with your breathing. Yes, your breathing is the bridge. Your breathing is life. You need it.
You can breathe your way through anything.
This alone will turn mountains into molehills.
The master key is to accept your breathing as it is.
There is no way you can do this wrong. And there is nothing you need to do right.
You are breathing anyways!
Within 5-10 breaths, you will feel relaxed, confident, present, calm and in your power. It’s totally
natural and easier than you think.

Step Two
Now turn your attention to the turning points in your breath cycle.
These are the moments when your inhale turns into your exhale. That’s the 1st
turning point.
Then, at the end of your exhale and before you inhale is your 2nd turning
point.
Simply stated, you always have had and always will have – and in fact you can be aware of this right no”
You have 4 parts to your breathing;
1.	Inhales
2.	1st turning points – just as your inhales are turning into your exhale
3.	Exhales
4.	2nd turning points – just as your exhale are turning into your inhales
Now, pause for a moment or two – hold your breath comfortably – at the turning points.
Your breathing pauses, there is a bridge, fusion, stop, gap….and hold it an extra few moments.
QUESTION: which one of these four parts of your breathing do you feel the most comfortable?
Remember that! That’s your cue to feel relaxed and confident.
Pay attention to all 4 parts of your breathing, especially the turning points AND PAUSE, with a little extra
awareness on the part of your breathing that feels the most comfortable.

Wait for these turning points and simply observe and listen to them. Then, pause for one
or two or three or four moments by holding your breath comfortably. Do this for 10-20
breaths, or more.
By watching and feeling these moments of transition, these bridges, gaps,
fusions and pauses, you are giving them your total attention, you may easily
find yourself feeling more relaxed and confident simply be being more fully aware and present than
almost ever before.
All you have to do is become aware of the turning points in your breathing. It might be helpful to
imagine waves on the beach rolling in and out endlessly. Just like your breaths. Enjoy the feeling and
your ability to breathe your way through anything and especially as you get ready to kick the winning
field goal and/or kicking your greatest punt.

Summary and review:
Step One
Accept your breathing as it is…
Step Two
Focus on the 4 parts of your breath — especially, the 1st and 2nd turning points — for 5-10 breaths or more.
Inhale and then pause a moment or two, before you exhale.
Exhale and then pause a moment or two, before you inhale.
Practice with this for a few days and whenever needed. You will be amazed at how simple and powerful
this is. Plus, this becomes automatic!
Are you ready to take this to the next level? You are going to learn how to go deep into your self-
confidence the next time we meet at Michael Husted’s newsletter.
Here’s a hint: You will be bridging your goal with your breathing, kicking foot, power and positive
visualizations. It’s fun and it works because you work!

Best wishes,
Dr. Brian Alman

This makes sense because we may all agree that parenting is the most challenging job in the world…hopefully, the most rewarding…and can be tons of fun!

When anyone tells me they don’t work and they just raise their kid(s), I say, “WOW!”

Each kid is a full-time job!

Raising yourself is a full-time job!

Add kid(s)!

Give credit where credit is due!

The link above is from FOX news last week in Denver. They had “teen week” and I was a guest to help people break the patterns that parents pass on to their kids.

It’s more like “adding on” to the patterns with www.TruSage.com because I have learned that it takes lots of calls, lots of techniques, consistency, perseverance, patience, love and guidance….and that is why we deliver these daily for motivation, letting go of inner and outer “weight” and wellness.

Parents all over the world benefit from these calls and I hope you do, too.

To more successfully parent yourself? Or your kids. Or your parents.

Best wishes,

September 2009

The Gloria (Sobol) Story.

Hi. My name is Gloria. I had been a binge eater since I can remember. Cookies, Candy, Ice Cream, Potato Chips…oh how I love Potato Chips. If I couldn’t get my hands on these, I would make toast. And then dress it up with tons of butter and sugar! Always there was a weight problem. Being over-weight is a problem, especially in High School and as a young adult. I was aware of how unhappy I was in my own life. And in my own skin. I just didn’t know how to make the necessary changes. I didn’t know I had choices. Sadness and Self Judgment was where my companions. Food filled the void that these created. I lived an endless cycle of eating and dieting. Truly, I’ve them tried it all. Many of them weren’t very healthy.

By the time I met and started to work with Dr. Alman I weighted 265+ pounds. I had lost and gained back my weight so many times. I call it ‘my weight’, because it was “my baggage.” We immediately started to explore, not the weight, but who I was. Who I am. I began the process of self-exploration and self-acceptance. Self-acceptance is a wonderful thing. As I learned to be my own best friend, the extra weight I carried around just fell away. I began to incorporate new ways of self-care. Healthy eating, exercise, play…ways that work for me, because they come from inside of me, not what someone else thinks I should do. I used the tools Dr. Alman taught me, breathing, colors, letting go, last row perspective… as I learned to accept and express each part of me, my inner view changed. My habits changed, almost without me noticing, my body changed too.

That was almost 10 years ago. It’s great. I am still down 90 pounds. I still use the tools Dr Alman teaches in Trusage. My life continues to get more exciting. Life is a joy to live, even in the hard times. This hasn’t always been my view. Today, there is not one moment I can’t “breath” my way though. Challenges become opportunities for growth. Change is inevitable. I see with new eyes, who I am, how I walk in the world, what I want to become…what works for me.

What do I want? I want to continue to live fully each moment, to “express” myself. Love myself. Give myself the care I need so I can care for others. I want to walk in greater awareness of my thoughts and actions. This is how I make a ‘world of difference’ around me and within me.

Truly,
Gloria Sobol

“Passion” was a dirty word . . .

Yesterday morning, “passion” was a dirty word – not just in the sense of it being something that I might have considered overused or meaningless. I mean, really, a dirty word. Not quite as bad as f—, or s—, but, nevertheless a dirty word. In my case, it was crippling because I could acknowledge that I had something that others labeled “passion” for things outside of myself and that was sort of okay. But, I was unable to have any “passion” for me (self care) because it felt “wrong”, “selfish”, “dirty”.
This was inconvenient because I was often told that I was a passionate person, or that I had great passion within me! Although, intellectually I understood that others were not really trying to condemn me with that – I felt condemned!!!
Then I spent the day at the beach with Brian . . .
I have worked with Brian at the beach before, and only with him am I willing to explore such depths within me. I have been in traditional therapy in the past, and have been a therapist in the past. Working with Brian and self-hypnosis is radically different and thorough. I totally trust his expertise and have NEVER been disappointed.
As I sat with Brian yesterday under an umbrella on a perfectly perfect beach day, we did several hours of trance work. Yes, it is definitely work! With his gentle, inspired, focused guidance I was able to find the very deepest connotations of “passion” that were skewing my view. It was hard, so hard – unpleasant at times, even to the point of being disgusting. But, Brian stuck with me – almost like being my huge oak shelter during a blizzard. It was sort of like (to continue this analogy) he allowed me the safe freedom to check out the snowflakes until I was strong enough to jump into the blizzard and learn how to take care of myself. All in one day!
It seems like it should be easy to just redefine a word, but the emotional baggage that goes with it can be very heavy without even realizing just how far it goes. Once we were able to get to the core of my difficulty with “passion”, he then helped me rebuild into a new and beautiful place.
That process is just that – a process. We worked back and forth with the old concept of “passion” and the new concept of “passion” until the new (and very positive) concept was firmly in my head and heart. I learned that my old definition was something I had gotten from my parents and other earlier life experiences. It was really perversion and denial – NOT “passion”!
My new definition of “passion” is happy energy, deep enjoyment, enthusiasm, flowing freely, something to be added onto my daily being (as opposed to trying to remove something I might consider negative).
Now I have PASSION! Passion is safe, passion is wonderful, passion is very good!!
I woke up this morning feeling wonderful, alive, and ready to tackle anything. I now have passion for me and for my life! I am excited to move forward!
Thank you Brian for being there for me! You have totally changed my life with the work we have done together. We have plumbed depths that had been hidden but were spewing their poisons into my life. I thank God every day for having the opportunity to explore my life and passions with you!

Dear Friends,

I’m bronzed and relaxed. Last week I media trained Dr. Brian Alman.

This was a first for me as sand, sea and sound bites don’t usually go together.

I loved it! The beach is where he does his private sessions. All
day. He does 20 years of work in 2 days.

Guaranteed.

He’s helped everyone from celebrity stars to people who are sent to him from doctors as a last resort because they aren’t getting better and yet they don’t die.

I have a lot to learn from him.

Brian packed a delicious vegetarian lunch, two towels and other
necessaries and we zoomed off in his super fast Corvette. I admit I
LOVE fast cars. Fast cars are a lot like sound bites. When you move
at high speed you need to be super-focused so you can control the car and it takes concentration and ability to go smooth without
doing yourself (and your passenger) in. Brian’s road savvy
translated easily to sound bite skills.

One of the reasons he is so successful is that he’s already been creating sound bites with the messages that he records for his http://TruSage.com, Kaiser Permanente and http://www.keepitoffforlife.com clients.

They are streamlined to get to the heart of what’s not working in
your life.

So I would understand why his work is so effective with people for weight loss, quitting smoking, healing relationships and developing self love I subscribed to his service to get support calls three times a week. I didn’t really get why people were so devoted and looked forward to those calls.

Now I get it. I’m one of them.

The 10 minute calls are delivered to you at the time, day, and
number of your choosing.

Once you take a personality test developed by two leading experts, one in weight loss, the other in
personality, your profile is personalized so you get calls tailored to your needs and goals.

The calls never repeat, are interactive and have an immediate lasting effect.

You’re given tools, techniques and practices that are simple to
incorporate into your life seamlessly.

I’m using one right now as I
write. The surprising thing is, the results don’t just manifest in
those problem areas, but translate to all areas of your life.

Brian is the Zen Master of self-acceptance. Which is why I’m
recommending his program for all of you no matter what your issue or desire.

Who among us doesn’t dislike some part of ourselves or those around us?

The bottom line is that whatever ails you will dissipate and you’ll become happier, calmer, and more loving toward yourself and others on a daily basis.

This will help you greatly to help get you ready to put yourself in
the public eye, do media interviews, speaking engagements and handle the high-stress of media pressure-cooker situations.

Warmly,

Susan

P.S. You can try the calls/this self-acceptance system for yourself here at www.keepitoffforlife.com
